BRAVO Client - Settings

The BRAVO Client application, based on the ASP model (Application Service Provider), has a number of installation requirements to ensure correct functioning. Among these, it is important to note that the only restriction for the client is the need to use the browser Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later, as the application is designed to work to maximum efficiency with this browser.

If this browser has not been installed, it can be downloaded for free from the Microsoft Corporation website

If you wish to check that the present system setting allows the BRAVO Client application to be loaded, click on the following button to start the Performance test.

Installation

To proceed with the installation of BRAVO Client you only have to access the URL specified by the information technology department. If the URL is not known, you can contact webmaster@fredolsen.es. However, the security conditions need to be established beforehand to allow the browser(Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher) open access to the printer ports (COM y LPT), among other things.

The steps to follow are:

  1. Open the options window of MS Internet Explorer, using the menu "Tools->Internet Options". Once the options window appears, click on the “security” tab and select the "Trusted sites" icon, as is shown in the following diagram:

Opciones de internet de MS Internet Explorer

  2. Now click on the "Sites..." button and write the URL of the web server for the  BRAVO Client application, indicated by the information technology department.

    Sitios de confianza

  3. Click on the OK button.
  4. Then click on the "Customize level..." button of the window shown in step 1, and do the following things:
    • Reset the level to "Low" by using the combo box
    • Click to "Enable" the option "Initialize and activate the ActiveX controls command sequence not marked as safe", as is shown in the following diagram:

      Configuración de seguridad

    • Click on the "OK" button to close the dialog box.
  5. Click "OK" again to close Internet options.

Once the security conditions have been established, Microsoft Internet Explorer should be closed and re-opened to ensure that the changes take effect.

As well as these security conditions, additional ActiveX components are needed to load the application. These components are installed in version 5.0 and higher of MS Internet Explorer (XML and scripting components). By clicking on the "Performance Test" button at the start of this page you can check whether the browser is ready to load the application.
